Kids young and old adored Sunday’s event with wildlife spy cam film-maker Phil Dalton. He took us on a world-wide trip with anecdotes punctuated with clips and photos – from being snowed in for 2 weeks while looking for bears, to formation flying with geese (literally!)
It was fascinating to see the animatronic robotic cameras up close and to hear how they have developed from humble home-made beginnings to the high-tech cutting edge pieces of kit they now are.
We learned a thing or two about Phil Dalton – memorably how he’s the only person on the planet ever to have received a phone call from a polar bear! It was also refreshing to hear that it’s not all glamour when starting out in the film industry – he fondly recalled one of his first roles in wildlife film-making involved collecting elephant dung from Bristol Zoo to make a mould for one of the early spy cameras!
It was such a thoroughly entertaining and fascinating presentation and the audience was delighted. Thank you Phil.
