We were joined yesterday by the super-talented Dr Amy Jeffs. Author; academic; historian; podcaster; artist; singer; song-writer – really the list just goes on.

Amy was utterly charming and shared her passion and considerable knowledge of medieval history and art. Speaking about her new book Saints: Medieval Legends of Heroes, Humans and Magic, she recounted stories of numerous lesser known saints with witty humour and deep understanding, challenging some preconceptions. She wove in local connections with Glastonbury and Somerset more widely.

All of Amy’s books are beautifully illustrated with her own artwork and she didn’t want those listening to the audiobook versions to miss out on. So instead she embellishes the audio works with poetry and song – we were even treated to a beautiful rendition.

Amy generously gave her time at the end to sign and dedicate books for the audience. We are so grateful that she was able to join us as part of Wedmore Festival.

Thank you to The Almshouse Tea Shop and Book Shop, Axbridge for the book sales collaboration.
