It is always refreshing to do something new and the Wedmore Festival greatly enjoyed another ‘first’ on Sunday lunchtime which was more ‘refreshing’ than most – a talk on the history of wine from ancient times, with some tastings of modern, unusual and fabulous wines together with a fun competition which saw audience members winning a bottle.

The talk was given by David Wright, a lecturer for The Arts Society, who shared his enthusiasm for the subject with wit and charm. We all learned a great deal and were encouraged to look further afield than the staple selections most of us usually make.

Thank you David for a most entertaining and educational talk and for broadening our horizons.
