MATT WITT
A tree walk in Wedmore

Midday Thursday 14 May
Meeting at St Marys Church BS28 4AA
Tickets: £10
Box office opens 14 April
Matt will lead a guided tree walk that includes the churchyard, Lascot Woods and the nearby fields. We’ll learn about our common native trees and how to identify them. Matt will share his knowledge of the trees, focusing on practical tree identification techniques as well as investigating their cultural relevance, uses, and folklore.
This is a gentle walk with many stops that focuses strongly on observation and enjoyment of nature while providing useful, practical tips. Matt’s walks merge nature and creativity through poetic intermissions in which Matt recites poetry of his own as well as that of romantic poets.
Matt is a tree enthusiast based in Glastonbury, Somerset – he has been hosting tree walks and guided tours in the area for seven years and has held three previous Wedmore tree walks.
