We are delighted to welcome back our Festival Patron and wonderful sporting raconteur, Henry “Blowers” Blofeld OBE.   Blowers is one of the greatest characters in cricket. For nearly thirty years his distinctive rich, plummy voice and his famous expression ‘My dear old thing!’ have delighted the millions of listeners to BBC Radio’s Test Match Special.

Prepare to be charmed as he recalls his days as a young England hopeful, how an Eton bus robbed the nation of that early promise, his recoiling from a career in the City to work as a cricket journalist before finding his way into the TMS box. There are hilarious tales of Johnners, Arlott and other larger-than-life characters in the box and on tour with England.

Henry also has plenty of hysterical stories from his post-retirement appearances on Would I Lie to You? and The Real Marigold Hotel.

There is also the opportunity to actually have lunch with Blowers with a glass of something stronger than tea for those purchasing the lunch ticket.
